AC Compressor Oil (PAG) in Chennai
Compressor oil lubricates the compressor and circulates with the refrigerant. The right oil type and quantity are essential for compressor life.
What the AC compressor oil (PAG) does
Most belt-driven compressors use PAG oil in a grade such as PAG 46, 100 or 150, as specified by the compressor maker. R1234yf systems need oil approved for that refrigerant, and electric compressors in EVs and hybrids use special insulating oil (usually POE).
OEM or aftermarket?
Using the wrong oil grade or type can damage the compressor. Never use standard PAG oil in an electric compressor.

Signs of a failing AC compressor oil (PAG)
