Why trucks suffer more
A long-haul truck may run its AC for ten hours a day on dusty highways, with heavy vibration and high engine-bay temperatures. Dust packs into the condenser, vibration loosens joints and hoses, and blower motors wear out from constant use.
The most common faults
- Condenser blocked with dust, insects and road dirt, so cooling fades in the afternoon heat.
- Cab blower motor failure, or a blower that works only on some speeds.
- Refrigerant leaks at hoses and joints caused by vibration.
- Compressor and clutch wear from long running hours.
- 24V electrical faults – relays, connectors and pressure switches.
Pre-summer checks for fleets
- Clean the condenser and radiator fins gently from the engine side.
- Replace the cabin filter if the truck has one.
- Check hoses for rubbing, oil marks and cracks.
- Check the belt tension and the compressor clutch.
- Have the pressures checked and leaks fixed before topping up gas.
Parts for truck fleets
Most trucks use 24V AC parts. Share the truck model, series and tonnage – for example Tata Signa, Ashok Leyland Boss or BharatBenz 1617R – and Rameswar Cool Spares will confirm the compressor, condenser, blower and hoses. Fleet operators can send a full parts list for a bulk quote.
